PRESS: Nginx developers set up $1 mln firm in Russia
MOSCOW, Oct 27 (PRIME) -- Some developers of Nginx, the world’s most popular web server, have returned to Russia from the U.S. and launched project Angie, which will become an independent branch of the Nginx code, and investment at the first stage has amounted to U.S. $1 million, business daily Kommersant reported on Thursday citing an IT market source.
The daily found out that firm Web-Server with the charter capital of 500,000 rubles was set up in Moscow on July 21 with the main activity of “development of computer software.” The company applied for registration of trademark Angie on October 10.
Web-Server’s co-owners include Valentin Bartenev, a former head of the team of developers of server Nginx Unit, who worked at Nginx in 2011–2022.
The firm’s other co-owners are also former Nginx employees.
